Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
The meekness the Lord spoke of isn't weakness, but rather surrendering to His will by letting go of my own will. Only when I'm no longer swayed by the judgments of others can I truly enter into rest in Christ. Meekness is a spiritual liberation, an expression of trust in God. The Lord invites me to take up His yoke and learn His humble example, allowing me to find true peace amidst the busyness and anxiety of life.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your example of gentleness and humility. Help me to let go of my pride and obsession, no longer bound by the opinions of others, but to look solely to You. May my heart learn to obey and trust, and find true rest in You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
