Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church through the word and gave himself for it, cleansing it with the washing of water so that he could present it to himself as a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any other blemish, but that it should be holy and blameless.
Marriage is not simply about bringing happiness to each other; it is a holy workshop established by God. Through love, patience, and forgiveness, husbands and wives are molded together, becoming increasingly like Christ. Happiness is not a goal, but the fruit of a holy life. When we see our spouse's weakness, we should not complain or escape it, but work with God, becoming helpers and supporters, enabling each other to grow together and revealing the mystery of Christ and the church.
Lord, thank you for the gift of marriage, a place where we learn holiness through mutual love. Help me to view marriage not as a means of self-gratification but as a vehicle for your sanctification. May I learn to be selfless, like Christ, in loving, enduring, and building up my spouse, so that we may grow together in you and become witnesses of your glory. Amen.
