1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Love is not based on the other person's deservingness, but rather on God's love for us first. If we learn to show love in the small things of our daily lives, we can see the presence of Christ in the ordinary. Love is the purpose and destiny of our existence. It opens the meaning of life beyond self-centeredness to others and to God. When a neighbor offers a piece of bread, when we extend a caring hand, that love already brings the world closer to God's will.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me first with an undeserved love. Please teach me to respond with love, regardless of whether others are "worthy," because love itself makes us worthy. Lord, may your love be the direction and destination of my life, allowing me to truly see and experience you in my interactions with others. May my heart always be sensitive to the needs of my neighbors, and may I live out your great love in small actions. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
