Matthew 6:6 When you pray, go into your room, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Prayer is the foundation of spiritual life. Without deep prayer, our faith and life are difficult to stabilize. Matthew 6:6 reminds us that true intimacy with God is in secret, in moments of solitude with Him. James 5:16 teaches us that the prayer of the righteous is powerful. Only when prayer becomes the core of our lives can we walk firmly and powerfully on our spiritual path, unswayed by external storms.
Lord, thank you for the precious gift of prayer, which allows me to draw near to you and receive strength and guidance. Help me, even in my busy life, to remember to enter into my inner chamber, to be alone with you, and to experience your presence. Increase my fervor and perseverance in prayer, so that my life may grow ever closer to you, and that I may not lose my way on the heavenly path. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
