Luke 19:10 “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
We often think that we are the ones seeking God: turning back in our busyness, praying when weary, and calling upon Him when lost. But Jesus clearly tells us, "The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." It turns out that before we even realized it, He was already on the path, actively seeking and patiently waiting. True repentance is not that we finally find God, but that we acknowledge—all along, God has not abandoned us.
Lord Jesus, thank you for not waiting for me from afar, but for coming to find me yourself. When I think I am close to you, remind me that this is grace; when I am lost and weak, let me be certain that you are still seeking me. Today I will not boast of my own pursuits, but simply respond to your call. May my life no longer run away, but rest in your saving embrace. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
