1 Timothy 4:8 Physical training is of little value, but godliness is of all value, with promises for both the present life and the life to come.
Today's piano performance is the result of the children's diligent practice. As the scriptures say, such practice is indeed beneficial, honing both skill and will. However, Bishop Lyell's reminder brings us back to a calmer perspective amidst the cheers: artistic achievement without the support of a holy soul is merely fleeting brilliance. As parents, we often plan for our children's "this life," refining their talents, but easily neglect the pious education that concerns their "afterlife." True success is not the dazzling brilliance on stage, but the ability to maintain Christian character even in solitude. Let us reflect: in our pursuit of excellence, have we placed our "relationship with God" above "worldly achievements"?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for watching over our children and ensuring their successful performance. Praise be to You! Lord, expand our horizons, so that we may not only be facilitators of our children's talents but also guardians of their lives. Remind us, Holy Spirit, not to be blinded by fleeting success, but to strive for eternal holiness. May our children learn reverence through their skillful movements and deepen their relationship with You in every effort. May their character be rooted in Christ, enabling them not only to possess the skills to serve the times but also the piety to bear eternal promises. Lord, guide our family to turn our gaze from earthly trophies to heavenly crowns. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
