Psalm 73:18-19 You set them in slippery places; you cast them down into destruction. How desolate they have become in a moment! They are utterly destroyed by terror.
When I reflect on how I should have fallen into perdition because of my sin, I realize that my continued existence is entirely due to God's mercy. Without God, we are like walking on rotten grass, ready to fall at any moment. Only by trusting in God's grace can we find peace of mind. True security lies not in our own hands, but in the Lord who provides us with grace. May I no longer despise sin, but instead turn to Him in awe.
Lord, I confess that I often overlook the gravity of sin, thinking I still have control over my life. Today, you remind me that without your providence, I would have long since perished. Thank you for your mercy in sustaining me. Grant me a sensitive heart that will abhor sin and cherish your grace. May my obedience deepen in reverence and my love for you deepen in gratitude. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
