Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” John 20:29 “Jesus said to him, ‘Do you believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’”
Faith requires us to believe in realities we haven't seen. This requires both courage and obedience. As Hebrews says, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When we first believe in God's promises, understanding and seeing follow. The Gospel of John reminds us that blessed are those who believe before they see. This makes me reflect: spiritual growth often begins with faith, not sight.
Lord, thank you for giving me the faith to believe in truths I haven't seen. Help me to trust in you first, seeking your understanding and wisdom, and not being swayed by circumstances or feelings. May my faith be a way to see you, allowing me to experience the reality of your promises in my life. Amen.
