Martin Luther King Jr. reminds me that true justice isn't cold judgment, but an act of love. Justice without love hurts; love without justice becomes weak and powerless. God demonstrated the perfect tension on the cross: He neither ignores the severity of sin nor embraces sinners with mercy. May I learn to practice justice in truth and love in mercy when facing social conflicts and personal relationships.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for demonstrating the perfect union of justice and mercy on the cross. Help me not to harm others with an overly righteous approach, nor to compromise the truth with a weak love. Grant me a humble and obedient heart, so that I can live my life in righteousness and love mercy, walking with you. May your Church bear witness to this tension in the world, becoming an instrument of peace and love in a turbulent world. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
