Jesus commanded us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. C.S. Lewis reminds us that if we set our sights on heaven, earthly blessings will follow. Our hearts are often drawn to the present, forgetting that eternity is the true reality. If we pursue only earthly benefits, we will lose everything. But when we focus on the eternal hope in Christ, we can live a more abundant life and see the proper place for earthly blessings.
Dear Heavenly Father, please adjust my perspective so that I seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. Grant me the confidence to focus my life not on earthly needs but on the eternal kingdom. Help me to center my daily choices on you, trusting that you will also provide for my needs as I seek the kingdom of heaven. Lord, free my heart from being bound by the temporal and empowered by the hope of eternity. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
