"Everyone can be great because everyone can serve. You don't need a college degree to serve... all you need is a heart full of grace and a soul born of love."
— Martin Luther King Jr.

📖 Scripture Reference

1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve one another, as stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

💭 Reflection

Great service often doesn't require grand pronouncements, but rather the timely arrival of a tractor from a friend's neighbor. The Bible reminds us that gifts are not divided by size; whether professional skills or physical labor, as long as they are used with love, they are good stewards of God's myriad blessings. On the friend's spacious farm in Regina, God demonstrated His care for the new immigrants through the neighbor's perceptiveness and generosity. Do we also often maintain a "heart of grace," considering the needs of others, not our own convenience, when they are in distress? Service is not a burden, but rather allowing God's love to flow through our hands among our neighbors, accomplishing miracles of mutual benefit in all things.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for arranging so many unexpected blessings in our lives. Thank You for showing us how real and tangible Your love is through the kindness of a friend's neighbor in Regina. Lord, grant me a sensitive and gracious heart, so that when I see others in difficulty, I may not hesitate or be petty, but willingly be a good steward of Your myriad blessings. Use my small strength to be a blessing to others, and to reflect Your glory in serving one another. May our lives not only be about receiving grace, but also about becoming channels of love, making this earthly community warmer through Your love. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
