1 Peter 2:2 “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”
1 Peter reminds believers that spiritual growth, like that of an infant, requires constant nourishment from God's Word. A healthy spiritual life is not about occasional sermons or fleeting zeal, but about a sustained thirst for God's truth. If one does not frequently draw near to God, one's spiritual life easily stagnates or even regresses. But when one humbly comes before God, loves the Bible, and is willing to learn and obey God's Word, one's life is unconsciously renewed, gradually growing and maturing, becoming more and more like Christ.
Loving Heavenly Father, thank you for your precious Word, which has become the nourishment for believers' lives. Grant us a heart that simply thirsts for you, so that we may love your truth as infants thirst for spiritual milk. Help us, in our busy and chaotic lives, to still be willing to draw near to you, listen to your word, and put it into practice in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit, continually renew our thoughts and intentions, so that our spiritual lives may gradually grow, maturing in faith, love, and obedience, and living a life that pleases you. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
