"I did not take on this ministry simply as a church missionary; I deeply felt God's calling and was certain that He was specially preparing me to do this work."

"Founding schools and establishing churches are equally sacred works. We not only want to save people's souls from sin, but also to enlighten their minds through the light of truth and knowledge, so that they can become pillars of the nation in this era of great change, faithful to God and truly serving their country and fellow citizens."
— Hunter Corbett

"Here are four standards for measuring our own morality to keep the commandments of the Bible.
1) Am I honest? Would I lie under any circumstances? Can I keep my promise to tell the truth at any cost? Yes or no? I don't mince words, make excuses, or offer explanations. Yes or no?
2) Am I upright? Can I be absolutely trustworthy with money? Can I do so at work even without supervision? Can I uphold the reputation of others? Yes or no?
3) Am I pure in my own eyes? Or would I make excuses or even protect myself? Are my habits pure? Are my thoughts pure? Are my motives pure? Are my relationships with the opposite sex pure? Yes or no?
4) Am I selfish? Do I make excessive demands on my family, wife, husband, or colleagues? Are my emotions unbalanced? Am I moody, cold one day and warm the next?"
"Some people gossip about me privately, criticizing my abandonment of comfortable life and possessions in England, even forgoing my missionary salary, calling it foolish fanaticism. But they don't understand that all my possessions belong to my Lord. If I can exchange these perishable riches for the eternal crown of life for Chinese girls, it's the most worthwhile thing in the world. To be spent for Christ is the greatest romance of my life."

"The primary design principle of a hospital is to benefit the human soul, just as it benefits the human body. Therefore, daily preaching of the Word, distributing pamphlets, and providing face-to-face guidance to patients at their bedside are considered the core of the daily routine, and all professional medical duties should serve this goal."

"I hope to lead my students to fulfill Jinling's motto—'Abundant Life'. To let them step out of the 'ivory tower', to see and understand the suffering of the poor, and to encourage them to dedicate their lives to this land."
