Philippians 3:20 But we are a citizen of heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The glory and satisfaction of this world are but fleeting shadows; only in Christ does the soul find true belonging. C.S. Lewis reminds us that if earthly things cannot satisfy the soul, it is because we belong to heaven. As citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, our identity lies not in worldly achievements, but in our union with Christ. May we, while awaiting His return, not be blinded by worldly vanity, but live out the value and hope of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Lord, thank you for giving me eternal hope, allowing me to look towards the Kingdom of the future even in this imperfect world. Remind me that my true home is in heaven, and my identity is in you. May my life no longer be entangled in earthly matters, but drawn by the calling of heaven. Let me live faithfully, holyly, and full of hope in the days leading up to your return. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
