1 Corinthians 15:17 If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile, and you remain in your sins.
C. S. Lewis reminds us that faith is meaningless if Christ has not truly risen; and if He has, He is the center of life. As 1 Corinthians says, if Christ has not risen, we are still in sin. The resurrection is not an added doctrine, but the foundation of faith. Reflect on yourself today: Am I merely habitually a "religious person," or am I truly living a new life because of the Lord's resurrection? If the Lord has risen, my life, my time, and my choices should be ruled by Him.
Rising Jesus, thank you for your resurrection from the dead, freeing me from sin and despair. Grant me not only to believe in the resurrection with my lips, but to live out its life in every day. Forgive me for sometimes treating faith as a habit, without truly letting you be my Lord. Remind me, Holy Spirit, that since you have risen, I no longer belong to the old self, but to you. May my thoughts, words, and actions bear witness to your resurrected power, so that others may see you living in me. Amen.
