John 6:9-11 “Here is a little boy who has brought five barley loaves and two fish. But this is hardly enough for so many people.” Jesus said to him, “Have everyone sit down.” There was a lot of grass in the place, so the crowd sat down. There were about five thousand men there at that time. After Jesus had given thanks, he distributed the bread to those who were sitting. In the same way he distributed the fish, and they were free to eat.
Faced with thousands of hungry souls, the disciples looked at the meager "five loaves and two fish" in their hands, their eyes filled with only helplessness and despair: "What is this?" We often fall into the same sense of scarcity when facing unknown challenges, studies, or massive ministries. But the logic of faith never looks at the absolute quantity of resources, but at whose hands they are entrusted. As long as one is willing to give everything, the Lord will bless and break it, and the wilderness will become abundant.
Dear Almighty Lord, forgive me for my frequent anxiety and fear stemming from my own insignificance. Today, I willingly emulate the innocent child and the missionaries of yesteryear, entrusting my meager five loaves and two fish entirely to Your nail-marked hands. I ask that You Yourself take them and give thanks, granting me simple, trusting faith. I ask that You break open this small vessel of mine, and in my studies and ministry, manifest Your wondrous miracle of feeding all. Amen!
